Michael deMeng and Andrea Matus deMeng are teaming up with Valley Rige Art Studio's Katherine Engen to present: Salty Sea-Dogs and Sumptuous Sirens - an Art-Venture that includes visiting and participation in the famous Mermaid Parade on Coney Island. This is a combination of site seeing and art-workshop in the ever-entertaining New York, New York.

Nautical Oddities and Mermaid Masks with Michael deMeng
It starts off with Mask Making with Michael, where you will concoct a saltwater dwelling persona of your choosing incorporating the methods of assemblage. Majestic mermaids, crusty crabs, nefarious Neptunes and skittish squids, are but a few of your options.

Sideshow Banners with Andrea Matus deMeng
Next up...Andrea with teach you to create side-show banner that matches your aquatic alter ego, allowing you to push paint and collage to its carnaval-escent extreme. By the end of the week it will be time for the world famous Coney Island Parade, and students will strut their stuff along the Boardwalk surrounded by a multitude of other sea-faring participants in elaborately adorned ensembles. Turn your arch- anemones into your best friends.
